Bradshaw Wins 1st Head-to-Head Tournament

Jay Bradshaw came from the loser's bracket and defeated John Loesche 266 - 228 and 259 - 247 to claim the tournament winning prize of $250 in the Head-to-Head Double Eliminator held Saturday January 17th at Bel-Air. Jay averaged 255.25 over eight games to lead the field. Loesche, who averaged 252.29 for seven games, was unbeaten throughout the tournament, including a 269 - 207 victory over Bradshaw, until the tournament final. Coming in third place was Steve Bergan, averaging 225.13 for eight games. Blake Huch finished fourth with a 244.71 average for seven games. Jim Loesche Sr. and Keith Aderholt rounded out the cashing spots, tying for fifth place and averaging 235.0 and 235.71 respectively.
The top notch field of 20 bowlers averaged 227.77 for the entire tournament. Jim Loesche Sr. had the high game of the tournament with a perfect 300 game. The tournament format including one game of qualifying to determine the bowler's seed in the bracket and to guarantee each participant at least three games. Once seeded, all bowlers competed in one-on-one matches to advance in the bracket. If a bowler lost two matches, they were eliminated. Bel-Air will be hosting another Head-to-Head Double Eliminator in the near future. The date and time will be announced soon.
